Jim Maxwell

Managing Partner and Director of Brand Consulting Services

Jim Maxwell is responsible for leading strategic marketing and brand planning for Martin Partners, ensuring well planned and intensely focused marketing platforms are developed for the agency’s clients using Martin Partners’ thorough and proven branding process. Jim began his education at the University of Richmond, where he earned a BA in Leadership and Strategic Planning, from the Jepson School of Leadership, and then continued on to Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned a BS in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting and Finance—and law school at The University of Virginia. Jim established his career as an adjunct faculty member at The University of Richmond, and as a management consultant for Fortune 100 companies, accounting and law firms, non-profits, and business consulting firms, including Ford Motor Company. Jim enjoys leading organizations through change as a “change agent”, and thrives on developing growth strategies, based on sound research, market analysis, and brand planning. In addition to teaching Small Business Planning and Business Law courses at The University of Richmond, Jim teaches Entrepreneurship and Advertising courses at The University of Virginia. Jim is also very engaged in the community, and co-founded Enterprise Virginia, a Micro-Enterprise Development Organization. Some of Jim’s recent clients include Johns Hopkins University, Atlantic Precision Resources, SmartBT, John Maloney for House of Delegates.
